Post 11/15
The purpose of my paper is to hopefully settle a dispute in my own mind. I hope to show that the Mozart Effect is real and that it does work, I have had so many people tell me that the Mozart Effect is real but at the same time so many have told me that it is not. My target audience is soon to be parents or pregnant parents, though this could apply for everyone, that are looking for ways to help their baby excel right after birth. For my main text I found a article on the library's website that gave me some very good information. With my main text I am tackling the argument whether or not im right or wrong and so I plan on having my main text explain my point of veiw have some points that back my veiw up and then I will show the argument against what I think. The major point is that the Mozart Effect is real and that it can help excel a baby before birth and keep helping them after they are born. I plan on making this point by saying what I believe, backing myself up with my article I found, and then throwing in the argument that says the opposite of me. Once all is said and done I hope my audience beleives that the Mozart Effect is real and that it does work and that maybe one day when they have a baby of their own they will use it to try and help their baby excel.

When I get ready to write a paper I normally read through my information and seperate the information into groups. Once I have all the information seperated I go through the group and order the information from most important, informative, and what best helps my argument. After the information is broken down like that I then add it to my paper. I mean I am not a great writer as it is, but this process is something my mom helped me with in middle school and it has worked for me since then. The thing that really gets me with that is I am not always good at keep my information in chronological order. I have tried many other types of organization with papers and the only other type of organization that kind of worked for me would be to organize my information like I would notes for a class. Even then i still go through and place my information in groups and do it the way my mom tought me.

One of the most important skills related to research is organization; you need to be able to find your notes or your sources without digging for an hour, because that wastes valuable reading and writing time. What strategies have you learned for organization in previous classes or research projects? What strategies might you borrow from the chapters you read? What is the problem with "The Shadow Scholar"? What reason/excuse does he give for his actions? Do you think his actions damage the state of education? Why or why not and/or how?
If you looked at my binder and my backpack you would see me as one of the most unorganized, cluttery, and messy person you have ever met. In some of my earlier english class I have been tought to write on a seperate sheet of paper the things I am going to talk about and organize them in the order i am going to talk about them.

For our last and final paper this semester we have to use the Research Method. The purpose of this paper is to pick a topic, express your opinion and explain why your opinion is correct. By using the Research Method I am going to do exactly that in my paper. I have done my research and found mulitple sorces that either agree with my veiw or that disagree. I am going to use both of these to help explain my point. Which also leads me to say that is another charateristic of the Research Method, you can not just have one side to a story you have to have an argument to your side so that your paper does not seemed biased but more so informative and argumentative.

Pop Culture 11/3
Last thursday we played one of the biggest rival games on our football schedule. We played Western Kentucky, every year its a war when both of us step onto the turf. We play hard hitting, gut wrenching, bloody football for 60 minutes. This past thursday was the craziest most nerveracking game so far of the season. The entire game was back and forth, neither of us really showed any dominance on the feild, it was such a good game that it came down to the last 5 seconds of the game for us to seal the win 34-29. We had our big plays like a 95 kick off return in the 4th quarter, and interception at the end of the game to help seal the win.
That game will be a game that i remember for the rest of my life, we had not beaten them in 2 years and then we come out and play a game like that. The best feeling was winning that game and celebrating with my team!

As I have started my research my first source that I found is the one that I beleive will have the best information for me to use. Granted it is not a very long source but it explains the effect of Mozarts music on babies. It give the same explanation that I have heard so many times before. It talks about babies that listen to Mozart for 30 minutes used less energy when they were sleeping than babies who were not listening to Mozart. The reason I think that this is a really good source is beacuse I found it throught the library's website and it is a periodical, and it also restates what I have heard my whole life about babies and Mozart's music.

Topic for 18th
Me and citations have a long frustrating past! It took me a very long time to figure out a correct way to cite and now when I cite I put the authors last name and the page number and it hasnt failed me yet. It took me prolly 5 years to figure out that citation and it was the most gruling process for me because I already am not a good writer so when my teacher threw a citiation on top of that i about lost my mind. Every teacher I have ever had has always tried showing me every citation style that they thought would work for me and granted some of them were easy for me but the majority of them were the most confusing things i had ever seen in my life. Along with learning how to use them it took me a while to learn their purpose, they are used first to give the author credit, second to help the reader find the quote in the article or book that you pulled it from. Using MLA is the most widely used and it has such a wide variety that, i beleive, it can help you with any type of citation that is out there.
